This is Bea's

Our story

On a property homesteaded in 1884 and lived on for four generations by the Landin family, Bea's Ho-Made Products is located. You will find us one half mile east of Gills Rock, on Wisconsin state highway 42.

The canning business started quite by accident. In 1961 the Landins' oldest daughter, Linda, started selling cherries from a picnic table by the roadside. The following year she included an over-supply of beans and cucumbers from the garden. Motivated by her success she included her grandmother's famous chopped cherry jam. The jam sold very well, inspiring her mother, Bea, to expand the selections to include strawberry and raspberry jams an various other pickled items. Each year something new was added and the business grew. The Landins operated a farm by day and did their canning by night, selling the finished products on the roadside picnic table. In 1972 Beas started a wholesale business prompting her to build a kitchen and retail store.

Today Bea's has a modern facility which houses the kitchen, bakery and retail store. The jams, jellies, and pickles are made in the same manner as they were when the business started. No artificial colors are added. Bea's Ho-Made Products has grown to include over 100 varieties of jams, jellies, pickles, relishes, specialty products and sauces, as well as homemade pies and cookies.

The employees at Bea's love making tasty products that so many customers have enjoyed over the years, and we look forward to the return of so many of them every year. We love meeting the new customers that, after sampling our products and taking in the aromas of fresh-baked pies wafting out of our kitchen, are sure to make us a part of their Door County tradition. The kitchen door is always open, and guests are encouraged to watch us in action and ask questions.
